The FasTrak Flex toll tag has a three-position switch to signal whether you are traveling alone or as a carpool. The FasTrak Flex toll tag works at all toll bridges and in all Bay Area express lanes, and it also can be used to pay for parking at San Francisco International Airport.
A FasTrak Flex toll tag is required for carpools, motorcyles, and eligible CAVs to travel toll free in the I-880, I-580, I-680 Contra Costa, and SR-237 express lanes.
If you do not use express lanes as a carpool, motorcycle, or eligible CAV, a standard FasTrak toll tag will serve all your needs. Most FasTrak users only need a standard FasTrak toll tag.
The FasTrak CAV toll tag is only issued to eligible clean air vehicles and is required for discounted single-occupant CAV travel in the I-880, I-680 Contra Costa, and SR-237 express lanes. The FasTrak CAV toll tag also has a three-position switch to signal whether you are traveling alone or as a carpool. The FasTrak CAV toll tag works at all toll bridges and in all Bay Area express lanes, and it also can be used to pay for parking at San Francisco International Airport.
When traveling as a single-occupant vehicle in the in the I-880, I-680 Contra Costa, or SR-237 express lanes, eligible CAVs will receive a 50% discount off the toll if they use a FasTrak CAV toll tag. It is the only toll tag that will communicate the correct discount to roadside equipment.
If you have a standard FasTrak toll tag and need to exchange it for a FasTrak Flex, you can do it online or by phone.
You can return your standard toll tag to the Customer Service Center by mail. When you are mailing a toll tag, we recommend that you use certified or registered mail to ensure delivery. However, if you wish, you also can put the toll tag into the mail without an envelope or postage. The mailing address is already written on the toll tag and the post office will deliver the toll tag to us.
Log in to your FasTrak account. Click on "Vehicles & Tags," then "Order A Toll Tag." Enter the number of FasTrak Flex toll tags you would like to order and complete the process to submit your order.
Remember to return your toll tag to the Customer Service Center by mail.
You must apply for the FasTrak CAV toll tag here and return your current toll tag to the Customer Service Center by mail.
The toll tag you order may require a security deposit. When the Customer Service Center receives a toll tag back from you, we will adjust your security deposit accordingly.
Before you take your trip, make sure to set the switch on the FasTrak Flex or FasTrak CAV toll tag to match the number of people in your vehicle.
